Sweet Constellations and Messages to the Future: Noosphere Children’s Day in Dnipro

As is tradition, NGO Association Noosphere and Planetarium Noosphere kicked off summer in the most joyful way—with a celebration of space and childhood: Noosphere Children’s Day.

On June 1, the courtyard of the Planetarium in Dnipro buzzed with excitement as dozens of curious young minds gathered to welcome summer with fun, learning, and a cosmic twist. The day was packed with activities designed to spark creativity and curiosity about the universe.

Children aged 6 to 12 took part in a real astronaut-style quest. Their journey began with a rocket modelling workshop led by experienced mentor Serhii Mytrokhov. The kids learned the basics of rocketry and even built their own simple model rockets—decorated to match their unique styles, of course.

Next came a space-themed quiz, where kids answered questions about the universe, stars, and planets. Correct answers earned them cool souvenirs and cosmic snacks.

Then it was time to explore the stars. The young explorers learned all about the brightest constellations in the night sky—and then built their own using marshmallows and candy sticks. The best part? They got to take their sugary constellations home to make tea time truly stellar.

Afterward, the children went on an interactive tour of Planetarium Noosphere, where they explored hands-on exhibits and enjoyed a show in the Star Hall.

To wrap up the day, each child created a message for the future—a personal time capsule to remember the first day of summer, 2025. With no creative limits, they wrote, drew, and crafted messages for future explorers. Some drew themselves, their favorite cartoon characters, or astronauts. Others wrote letters in different languages.

We believe these messages will one day be read under peaceful skies—reminders of the creativity and resilience of Ukraine’s children, who continue to dream, explore, and create despite the challenges around them.
