Meet the Space Animals: Annual Nationwide Drawing Contest Officially Begins

The Noosphere Space Art Challenge is back. Registration has officially opened for the seventh annual nationwide children’s drawing contest dedicated to space. This year, the competition is organized by NGO “Association Noosphere” in partnership with the educational initiative “Humane Education and Volunteering” by UAnimals and Suziria Group.

This year’s theme invites participants to imagine extraordinary creatures living far beyond our planet. Children are encouraged to create a drawing under the theme “Meet the Space Animals.”

The contest is open to children and teenagers aged 3 to 17, whether they are currently living in Ukraine or abroad. To take part in the Noosphere Space Art Challenge, participants need to create a drawing that reflects the theme and submit an online application through the official website. Entries will be accepted from March 2 to May 3, 2026.

There are no strict requirements when it comes to technique, format, or color palette. The most important thing is to tell an original sci-fi story about life in the Universe and share a personal vision of what animals in space might look like.

On May 18, 2026, the jury will select the best drawings in three age categories (3–7, 8–12, and 13–17). Nine winners in total will receive special prizes. All participants, as well as the most active schools, kindergartens, and lyceums – together with their teachers and educators – will receive participation diplomas.

The partnership with UAnimals expands the focus of the Noosphere Space Art Challenge, combining the traditional theme of space exploration with the important idea of caring for animals. Through children’s imagination and art, Association Noosphere aims to highlight the value of life and promote a responsible attitude toward the world around us in a creative and accessible way.

Since its launch in 2019, the nationwide children’s drawing contest has brought together 82,963 young artists from every corner of Ukraine, as well as from 25 countries worldwide, including Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Albania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Armenia, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Peru, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the United States, Turkey, and Japan.

Thanks to this the organizers received recognition from the National Register of Records for hosting the largest thematic online children’s drawing contest in Ukraine.
