On October 4–5, Dnipro will host the local stage of the NASA Space Apps Challenge, the world’s largest space hackathon. Registration for this global event is now open.
NASA Space Apps Challenge is an international hackathon held annually under the auspices of NASA (the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration) in countries around the world. Thousands of enthusiasts come together in teams to solve real-world challenges in just 48 hours. Participants will be guided by experienced mentors, including experts from space-related companies.
This year’s theme is “Learn, Launch, Lead.” The global organizers invite participants to learn useful STEM skills, launch solutions that turn NASA’s open data into practical tools, and lead their communities toward technological change.
The event will be held in a hybrid format — both online and offline — so participants can join from anywhere in the world. Students, scientists, analysts, programmers, designers, writers, makers, engineers, developers, biologists, and anyone passionate about space are welcome to take part.
Participation is free with prior registration. You can sign up using the registration link.
Stay updated on the event through the official Facebook page and Telegram channel.
For the ninth year in a row, NGO “Noosphere Association” is organizing the local Dnipro stage. Over the past eight years, participants from Dnipro have created many successful projects. Several local winners have gone on to achieve global recognition — for example, in 2017, Team Spacer made it to the Top 10 People’s Choice category, and in 2020, Team FireWay won the Best Use of Technology award. NEXT SPACE LAB (2022) and Craft Lab (2024) were both listed among the Global Finalists Honorable Mentions, ranking in the top 40+ teams worldwide.
The last two editions of the Dnipro hackathon broke records, bringing together 500+ participants from Ukraine, Greece, Lithuania, Norway, and Canada, who created over 100 innovative projects.
