Space Quiz and Rocket Workshops: Noosphere at the Autumn Book Country Festival

From September 25 to 28, one of the largest literary festivals, Book Country, took place at the Expocenter of Ukraine (VDNG) in Kyiv. For the third year in a row, NGO “Association Noosphere”, together with Universe Space Tech magazine, took part in the event in partnership with Ukraine Spacemodelling Sport Federation.

At their booth, Association Noosphere and Universe Space Tech showcased printed editions of the magazine, as well as books, souvenirs, and accessories from the Noosphere Store. All proceeds from Noosphere Store sales are directed toward funding the organization’s social initiatives.

Visitors could also take part in a space-themed quiz, answering questions about space, technology, and literature to win prizes. More than 100 participants completed all three levels of difficulty and joined the prize draw. The youngest contestant, five-year-old Artem, impressed everyone by correctly answering all the questions — without a single hint from his mom.

On September 27 and 28, Noosphere and the Ukraine Spacemodelling Sport Federation hosted hands-on rocket-building workshops for children. Young participants learned the basics of rocket modeling and built their very first simple rockets, guided by Mykhailo Dubrovnyi, a champion in rocket modeling sports.

The workshops gathered 77 young engineers, who filled the room together with their parents — extra chairs even had to be brought in for everyone eager to join.

In total, the Book Country festival welcomed over 93,000 visitors. We hope that at least some of them left with a new love for space and stars.
